FREE HEALTH CAMP WITH FREE MEDICINE AT MURTI, JALPAIGURI
On July 24, 2019, AIM Foundation, in partnership with Abasar Resort, Dakshin Dhupjhora, and West Bengal Forest Department, organised a free medical camp at the Murti Forest Beat Office in Gorumara North Range, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. This initiative was designed to deliver essential healthcare services to the local community, addressing the limited access to medical facilities in this remote, forested area.
A dedicated team of medical professionals was present, including Dr. Mini Sengupta, Professor at North Bengal Medical College, Dr. Ashoke Khandelwal, Dr. Rekha Khandelwal, and Dr. Anupam Bhattacharyya. These doctors provided comprehensive health check-ups, identifying and addressing a variety of medical issues for residents of all ages. Free medicines were distributed to ensure immediate treatment for patients, making healthcare accessible and relieving the financial burden on the community.
Beyond treatment, the medical team placed a strong emphasis on preventive healthcare. They educated attendees on hygiene practices, nutrition, and strategies for disease prevention, equipping the community with knowledge to better manage their health in the long term. This focus on preventive care aimed to foster greater health awareness and proactive health management among residents.
This outreach program, facilitated by AIM Foundation and its collaborators, reflects their commitment to enhancing community health and well-being. By providing free healthcare services and medications, they addressed the immediate health needs of the community while building a foundation for improved health literacy and resilience. This initiative represents a meaningful step in making healthcare accessible to remote and underserved areas.
