FREE MEDICAL CAMP WITH FREE MEDICINE DISTRIBUTION BINODPUR, MAIPITH, SUNDARBANS
AIM Foundation, in partnership with the Government of West Bengal, organised a comprehensive free medical camp at Binodpur Community Hall on Maipith Island in the Sundarbans, located in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The initiative aimed to bring essential healthcare services to this remote forest village, where access to medical facilities is limited.
Held at the Binodpur Community Hall, the camp was a lifeline for the local residents, providing much-needed medical attention and guidance. A team of dedicated doctors, nurses, and support staff worked tirelessly to deliver quality healthcare to the underserved community. Throughout the day, a total of 293 patients received medical care, including both preventive and curative services. The team conducted detailed examinations, diagnosed a range of ailments, and provided medication and guidance on health management.
Specialised services included general health check-ups, screenings for common diseases, maternal and child health assessments, and consultations for chronic ailments. Many of the residents suffer from health issues due to their challenging living conditions, including waterborne diseases, skin infections, respiratory problems, and malnutrition. Recognising these needs, the healthcare providers focused on offering immediate treatment and educating the patients on preventive healthcare practices, which are crucial in these remote areas.
In addition to treatment, the medical camp also distributed essential medicines free of charge. Health education sessions were organized to raise awareness about hygiene, nutrition, and the importance of early medical intervention. The camp saw a positive response from the community, with locals expressing their gratitude for the support and relief it provided.
This medical camp represents AIM Foundation's ongoing commitment to extending healthcare services to underserved regions, ensuring that even the most remote areas are not deprived of basic health facilities. The collaborative effort has set the foundation for future health initiatives in the Sundarbans region.
